Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 7, 2026
We believe your privacy is important. This policy explains what information Qino collects, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Personally-Identifying Information
No Personally-Identifying Information is transmitted to external locations when using Qino.
Technical Information
Qino transmits non-personally identifiable information such as device type and operating system version to our servers. This is used in aggregate to help facilitate development decisions. Our servers may temporarily store technical information like IP addresses for operational purposes, such as maintaining service quality and preventing abuse.
Location in the App
Qino uses your device's location to find nearby cinemas. Your location data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
Location on the Website
When you choose "Your location" on the website, your exact position stays in your browser, where it is used to show distances to cinemas. We only receive an approximate location, which we use to pick the cinemas and showtimes near you.
If you haven't chosen a location, we may use an approximate location based on your IP address for the same purpose.
The location you choose is remembered in a cookie on your device, so you see nearby showtimes on your next visit. Your location is not stored on our servers.
Third-Party Links and Content
Movie posters and images are loaded from The Movie Database (TMDB). Movie trailers link to YouTube's website or app. When you choose to purchase tickets, you'll be directed to the cinema's website through your device's default browser. These services have their own privacy policies which we recommend you to review, as we are not responsible for their practices.
App Analytics
To improve Qino, we collect anonymous usage data about how the app is used, such as which features are most popular and which cinemas are frequently viewed. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Website Analytics
To understand how the website is used, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors find them, we use PostHog and Cloudflare Web Analytics. Neither uses cookies or stores anything on your device, and neither creates a profile of you. The data they collect is anonymous and cannot be traced back to you. PostHog stores its data on servers in the European Union.
We use these services because we have a legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used, so we can improve it.
Business Transfers
If Qino, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Qino goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Qino may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.
Privacy Policy Changes
Although most changes are likely to be minor, Qino may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Qino’s sole discretion. We encourage you to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of Qino after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
